“Art On my Mind” is a group exhibition that showcases the artwork of 8 artists using various mediums that explore the many facets of art and love found on the streets of NYC and the world.

Curator and MCNY MBA alumna, Josephine “Lotus” Freeman, owner of J. Lotus Gallery, was inspired by photographer James VanderZee who documented the artistic evolution during the Harlem Renaissance through his camera lens. She curates a visual showcase, documenting the phenomenal art movements currently happening all around us, in the New York Metropolitan area that connects us to one another. No matter who we are or where we are from, thought art we can understand one another. Through art, we evoke emotions that move us to thought and conversation. Art speaks and its roar is loud and clear.

“Art On My Mind” celebrates the diversity of art forms and the melody of art the dances together in a synchronicity of rhythms in New York City. This melting pot, where all worlds collide.

Each work of art offers insight into the artists’ experiences. The exhibition includes works from emerging and established artists in all media: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital art, and mixed media.

The exhibition will open on Tuesday, September 26th with a reception from 6-8 pm and will continue through December 18th, 2017.
