Gallery Sensei is an alternative community art space with international presence. We’re currently based in New York City and London (UK) and dedicated to feature the work of new, developing & emerging artists.

With over 250 exhibitions and participation in over 40 international art fairs thus far, Sensei has consistently introduced an eclectic, well-rounded roster of talent to an appreciative audience.

We’re calling for creatives to participate in our Spontaneous Painting Event.

The event takes place in the performance space of the gallery. For each event two artists will be chosen to work together, each randomly picks a theme suggested by the audience and starts improvising from one side of the panel. Eventually the two meet in the center and their styles coexist/blend together as a tribute to globalization, as well bringing attention to the issues we’re facing today.

Ideal candidates should be comfortable creating artworks in front of the audience and have the ability to improvise. No limitations in regards to the materials using (but please don’t burn the panel). Artists are expected to bring their own supplies but the gallery can provide the basics.

Works created during the event will be included in a future group show and auctioned for charity. The artists participating will be honored on the website.

For submission please send samples of your work and an optional brief proposal to: senseiopencall@gmail.com.
