Visionary Alchemy

Opening Reception on Saturday, April 29, 2017, 6-9pm, ‘VISIONARY ALCHEMY’, at ONE ART SPACE, 23 Warren Street, New York, NY. 49 outstanding and accomplished International artists whose work exemplifies the growing genre of art known as Visionary, will be represented. This art may be called by many names – Fantastic Realism, Surrealism, Magic Realism, Visionary Art, Cosmic Art and Inspirational Art, however the work is neither purely abstract nor rigidly realistic. Members of the Society for Art of Imagination, work independently of one another in various countries yet their work shows a consistent ethos. Their works are created in a variety of mediums, predominantly painting, many of which are executed in the Mische’ technique, rediscovered by Professor Ernst Fuchs and perpetuated by Brigid Marlin, founder of the Society for Art of Imagination, which has been in existence since 1998 and still thriving to this day.
