Artist Profile: Caroline Blum
These abstract paintings are about nostalgia–about colors and shapes and details. I am very interested in things that are memories—and stories I can tell by titles and particular colors that take me back to a specific place and time. They were painted with ink and acrylic on wood and canvas. In my earlier work, I looked at shows, and books while I painted. When I started these in 2012, I put everything away and stopped going to shows and focused only on making the paintings. I have eighteen paintings in the series so far.
