Recession Art Grand Re-Opening
March 9, 6-10 pm | 47 Bergen Street, Boreum Hill

On March 9, Recession Art will open the doors of our new affordable art gallery and store. We will present solo exhibitions by Featured Artists, curated Open Call exhibitions, and a rotating selection of affordable paintings, photography, prints, drawings, handmade books, and art objects.

To inaugurate the gallery, Recession Art will present a solo exhibition by photographer Danny Ghitisfocusing on his work documenting New York’s Harlem Valley.  In a place that he describes as “neither here nor there” Ghitis captures the inhabitants and oddities of forgotten towns just a few hours north of New York City.

In addition to our rotating gallery exhibtions, new highlights in the store will include Christopher Gideon’s America’s Pastime collaged baseball cards, Elizabeth Moran’s corporate office photography, and Tate Foley’s silkscreen books.  We will continue our mission to make artwork available to art lovers of every budget- from $1 to $1,000.

The Recession Art gallery and store will be open 1-7 pm Wednesday-Saturday and 1-5 pm on Sunday.
