Yegam Art Space presents a solo exhibition of hardedge geometric abstract painting artist, Soonae Tark, “Selections” from  August 10th to September 9th. The opening reception will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm on August 10th.

This exhibition shows combinations of repeated simple shapes and colorful paintings of faces that attract people’s eyes. Selections consist of apparent and planned works that inspired the artist’s own experiences. Her first selection series, colorful abstractions, reaches architectural structures on paintings based on geometric lines, faced and layered fancy colors that have a space perception and a three dimensional effect, simultaneously. The second selection series, flat abstractions, stands out the artist’s inner aesthetic unconsciousness by composing optimal proportions and harmonious colored faces, which are controlled but passionate at the same time, like a stone properly faced after long years. The third selection series, geometric abstractions, is painted with vivid color on transparent acrylic panel. The final selection series, drawing works, reveals the artist’s emotions in union of free lines that rule unconsciousness and glamorous colored faces.

Piet Mondrian came to an end result of geometric abstractions from repeating branch series. Likewise, Soonae Tark also questioned, “What is the supreme art?” and tried to get the answer by expressing the inner images from her mind. This exhibition, Selections, offers a chance to appreciate hardedge geometric abstract painting.
